After completing a traineeship in Law, Jerry began practice more than 30 years ago. After employing Brendan in his practice, the two found prospects of partnership with Belleli King & Associates commencing in 1985.
Jerry is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor. He practices in all areas of law and has a particular interest in commercial law and commercial dispute resolution including property, leasing and business acquisitions and dispositions.
Jerry is a skilled advocate having represented our firm’s clients in a broad range of Courts and Tribunals.
Brendan is a founding member of Belleli King & Associates which commenced practice in 1985.
Prior to founding our firm, Brendan spent 9 years as a Court Registrar. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from Monash University and in 2000 completed a Master of Laws majoring in family law also from Monash University. Brendan is admitted as to practice as a barrister and solicitor.
Brendan practices in all areas of law and has a particular interest in family law, crime and small business commercial disputes. He is also a skilled advocate and has appeared for the firm’s clients in various courts and tribunals including the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Magistrates Courts of Victoria and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
In his spare time, Brendan sits on the Board of Ties for Lives and Somebody’s Child charities. He has volunteered at Mentone Community Legal Service for over 20 years. He is also a musician and enjoys competing in endurance sports including long distance, running, mountain biking, triathlons and much more. Coming from a multicultural background, Brendan speaks French, Greek and Italian.
David joined Belleli King & Associates in 2003 and since 2011, is now one of our partners. David holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Melbourne and is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor.
David practices in all areas of law and has a particular interest in commercial law and commercial dispute resolution including building and construction, leasing, property, business acquisition and disposition, shareholder agreements, finance, insolvency, tax and debt recovery. He also conducts litigation in States other than Victoria when required.
David has been a volunteer with the North Melbourne Legal Service and is a past member of the Building Dispute Practitioners Society.
Karen Wilson joined Belleli King & Associates in 1992 when she and her husband moved from Tasmania, where she had worked in various areas of law for many years. With more than 40 years legal experience including working as a transcription typist for the Supreme Court of Tasmania in Burnie, she has experience in a broad range of areas as a legal assistant/law clerk including conveyancing, family law, commercial, civil and commercial litigation with her experience in Wills, Probate and Estate litigation being her favoured areas in which she has worked for many years both in Tasmania and Victoria. During her time in Tasmania, Karen was also part of the inhouse debt recovery team and large contributory mortgage practice for a long established legal firm in Burnie.
Since moving to Victoria, although continuing to work in various areas of law, she has dedicated her time within the areas of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate and Estate litigation. These areas require compassion and understanding at difficult and emotional times in peoples’ lives and Karen prides herself on working closely with clients to assist them through the minefield of documents and forms. Karen also prides herself on her patience, listening to clients, providing advice and assistance in plain simple to understand terms which is appreciated by so many of her clients.
As it is not always convenient for clients to attend at our office either because of work commitments or generally for health and personal reasons, Karen will accommodate her clients and also family members with appointments that are suitable for them during and after hours either at the office, in their homes, at Nursing Homes or Hospitals.
Karen is also our Practice Manager and works closely with the partners, staff and the firms’ clientele, which keeps her busy with the ever growing practice.
In Karen’s spare time when not attending clients’ auctions on a Saturday or meeting with clients out of office hours, she enjoys spending time with her husband with their sporting hobbies, catching up with friends, volunteer work with children and reading.
Tanya joined Belleli King & Associates more than 19 years ago and has been involved in diverse arears of law including criminal, civil litigation, commercial litigation, insurance matters, Victoria of Crime, motor vehicle accidents, debt collection (both inhouse and for clients) and intervention orders with a particular interest in criminal law, victims of crime, civil and commercial litigation. Tanya is a skilled operator and negotiator who has developed cost effective strategies providing our clients with the best possible outcomes. Tanya also enjoys a personable approach with her clients.
In Tanya’s spare time, she enjoys reading in diverse fields which include naturopathy, homeopathy, philosophy and psychology. Tanya also enjoys tennis, soccer, dancing and spending time with friends and family.
Coming from a Serbian background, Tanya also speaks Serbian.
Rosalba joined our firm in 2001, and holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University. Rosalba is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor with a particular interest in property law, commercial law, and wills and estate litigation.
Rosalba prides herself of her outcome driven focus and practical advice and enjoys a personal approach with her clients.
Rosalba enjoys playing piano, reading, travelling and cooking. Coming from an Italian background, Rosalba also speaks fluent Italian.
Betty Watkins is our senior conveyancer who has over 40 years’ experience in the field of conveyancing, and who has been admitted as a Fellow of The Institute of Legal Executives since 1989.
She joined Belleli King and Associates in 2002 and is able to handle all your Conveyancing needs including residential and commercial transactions, subdivisions, off the plan sales and purchases, and all other aspects of the conveyancing process from pre contract negotiations to final settlement. Your file will be handled with due care, diligence and in a most professional manner.
Betty is bilingual and speaks Italian as a second language.
Anna joined our firm in 2008. Anna holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Victoria University. Anna is admitted as a solicitor and practices in various areas of law including family law, personal injury, commercial and civil litigation, criminal law, victims of crime cases and wills and estates law. Anna is a skilled negotiator and focuses on cost effectiveness and outcome driven processes. Anna is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria.
In her spare time, Anna enjoys travelling, catching up with friends and has an interest in animal welfare causes. Coming from a Polish background, Anna speaks Polish.
Hugh joined our firm in 2011, and holds a Bachelor of Laws from University of South Africa. Following his decision to relocate to Australia, Hugh completed a Bridging Course for Admission as Australian Lawyer from the University of New England and the College of Law.
Hugh is admitted as a barrister and solicitor with a particular interest in family law, commercial law and criminal law matters. Hugh is a skilled negotiator and enjoys a reputation of settling matters quickly and cost effectively for our clients.
Apart from his career in law, Hugh also enjoys playing guitar and honing his carpentry skills. Coming from South Africa, Hugh is fluent verbally and in writing in Afrikaans. Hugh is also a member of the Southern Solicitors Group.
Jason joined our firm in 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Melbourne University.
Prior to joining our firm, Jason worked as a Geotechnical Engineer however, left the industry to pursue his passion in Law most recently working with the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance.
Jason is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor with a particular interest in commercial and construction disputes, criminal law, and intellectual property disputes. Coming from the ranks of government Jason has a unique perspective on disputes giving him the ability to canvas matters from multiple points of view.
In his spare time, Jason is a member of the Victoria’s Southern Solicitors Group. He also enjoys playing piano and one day hopes to own his very own grand piano. Jason also speaks conversational German and enjoys engaging with all cultural backgrounds.
Peter was admitted to practice in 1970 and is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria.
With a career spanning more than 40 years, Peter’s key practice areas include litigation (civil and commercial), dispute resolution, wills and estate practices and litigation/mediation.
Peter practised in Dandenong as a sole practitioner for many years. His practice was incorporated by Belleli King & Associates in 2014 and Peter now works as a consultant. Peter continues to serve the legal needs of his broad client base with his many years of experience.
